As the popularity of the Grantchester Charity Runs has grown over the years, here are some of the changes we have made to make the event a more rewarding experience for everyone.

  • Starts outside the Blue Ball Inn in Grantchester
  • 2012

  • Partnered with the Big Push for the Rosie Hospital at Addenbrooke’s
  • Started by Dame Mary Archer, Chair: Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Free Car Parking
  • 2013

  • Partnered with the Healing Hearts Campaign raising funds for a new cardio vascular scanner for babies and children at Addenbrooke’s
  • Start/Finish moved to Grantchester Cricket Club’s new Spring Lane field
  • More toilet facilities, Distance markers, Water stations, Improved timekeeping
  • 2014

  • Partnered with the Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT)
  • Started by Lottie Booth from Star 107FM
  • Results published within 24 hours
  • 2015

  • Revised 10k & 3k Courses eliminating road crossings
  • Nippy Junior Ventilator fund raising for ACT
  • Started by Dame Mary Archer, Runs Warm-up by CrossFit RNA
  • Grantchester10k.org introduced
  • 2016

  • Sunday, October 9th, 2016
  • We welcome back ACT and our new partner EACH, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices
  • Same Courses with no awkward road crossings
  • Revamped race timing and the return of Flair Catering and CrossFit RNA
