As a result of your feedback after last year’s event a number of improvements will be in place, namely:

– More toilet facilities
– Distance markers
– Water stations
– A well defined finish
– Improved timekeeping

Registration fees will remain the same as last year. £12 for the 10k and £9 for the 3k.

Steve Wilson, captain of Grantchester Cricket Club said: “last year’s event was a great success with over 230 runners taking part and over £1,600 raised for the Rosie. Once again we are teaming up with Addenbrookes Charitable Trust (ACT) to raise funds – this year for the Healing Hearts Campaign which is raising funds for a new cardio vascular scanner for babies and children . The target this year is to raise £3,000. So please get yourself sponsored and help make difference for sick and recovering children”.

Hi. I would love to run this one (and my husband and daughter too, as last year) but…..did you know that it’s on the same day as the Cambridge Town and Gown 10km, which is growing into quite a big event on the running calendar now?
Just thought I’d let you know, in case you hadn’t spotted this clash, as it may reduce the number of people who can enter the Grantchester runs.
    All best,
    Liz

      Hi Liz

Thanks for letting us know. This year we will proceed with the Grantchester Fun Run as we’re too far down the organisational process to make a change in date now. Certainly something for us to check for future years.

Hope to see you on the day

      Best wishes

      David

    Hi,

Just wondering, how early do you recommend we arrive before the race?

    Thanks.

      Dear Heather

Thank you for registering for the 10k Grantchester Fun Run we look forward to seeing you on the 6th October. I recommend that you arrive at Spring Lane for about 10.00am so that you can collect your race number with plenty of time. The nearest car parking is at Manor Farm or if you are arriving by bicycle you can leave it at Spring Lane.

This event is organised in partnership with Addenbrookes Charitable Trust (ACT) to raise funds for the Healing Hearts Campaign – this is specifically a campaign to purchase a new Cardio Vascular Scanner for babies and children. Please help to raise funds for this great cause. You or your sponsors can donate by going to http://www.justgiving.com/Grantchester-Cricket-Club1 . All monies go direct to ACT. Alternatively, you can set up your own Justgiving page – select ACT as your chosen charity and name the page Grantchester Fun Run for Healing Hearts Campaign or should you prefer, a sponsorship form is attached. The proceeds from sponsorship are shared between ACT & GCC.

The races start from the cricket field at Spring Lane Grantchester (next to the Orchard Tea Rooms) at 10.30 & 10.40. Registration is open from 09.15.

There is free car parking available at Manor Farm Barns, Grantchester (30 yards from Spring Lane) – the driveway entrance is between the church and Spring Lane – and the village charity car park which is located just before you enter the village from Trumpington.

      Best wishes

      Steve Wilson
